Choosing An Origami Owl Mentor

Hey Hoot Mamas!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  Halloween has come and gone, and November is setting in.  You know what that means....we begin to think about who is hosting Thanksgiving Dinner and preparing for the first snow flakes to Fall.  It also means the official start of the biggest shopping season of the year and spending money.  Wouldn't you love to have a few extra dollars this holiday season to makes things easier?  Consider joining Origami Owl with a Holly Jolly Box of Happy as a fun and exciting way to earn some extra money this year!  Sounds amazing, doesn't it?  Before you do just that, you will need to think about Choosing An Origami Owl® Mentor.  Choosing a mentor is an important part of your success with Origami Owl® or with any Direct Sales company.  Choosing a mentor that will guide you through the initial start-up of your business and offer support long term is a key to your success and you have the option to choose right the first time. You want to choose someone you connect with, who you can talk to. Someone who is involved with their business on a full-time basis and is available to you when you need questions answered.

A few important things to consider when choosing an Origami Owl® mentor are:

  • Does she have a duplicatable business model and able to help you create your own?
  • Does she know the basics of Direct Sales – Booking, Sponsoring and Selling?
  • Is she knowledgeable about Origami Owl®, the products and the policies of the business?
  • Does she know the Origami Owl® career plan and shared the benefits with you?
  • Does she understand how to overcome objections?
  • Does she take the time to train and develop team leaders?
Your Origami Owl® mentor should be someone who you feel comfortable with, have confidence in and is experienced.  More importantly, your mentor is responsible for getting you off to a Strong Start.  They are paid a commission based off your personal sales, so they have a responsibility to ensure you have the tools, knowledge and resources in order to make your business a success.

A dedicated Origami Owl® Mentor should always:
  • Be first point of contact when you have a question or an issue
  • Be available to answer questions in a timely manner
  • Help you build a strong foundation to your business in your first 30 - 90 days.
  • Provide you with training and support on a regular basis
  • Lead by example – sharing how insight and tips on how they are growing their own business
  • Communicate with you regularly
  • Help you set, understand and be supportive of your goals
  • Encourage participation in team and corporate training events and conference calls
When choosing an Origami Owl® mentor you will also want to consider the team you will be joining.  You want to surround yourself with a team who is successful, positive and one that will celebrate your successes right along with you.  Being part of a team can have a great impact on your business by providing a community of like-minded women, allowing you the opportunity to build new relationships, brainstorm, collaborate and grow alongside your fellow team members.  Having an active, close knit team really creates a sense of community and belonging to the designers on that team – which in turn is fantastic for building confidence and providing motivation.
Ultimately, your business is your own but having a supportive and compatible mentor plays a huge role in achieving success and reaching your goals.  Remember when choosing an Origami Owl® mentor, be sure you are selecting someone who you feel can adequately support you, is knowledgeable and most importantly that you feel is a good “fit” for you and your business.
